Leave a gift in your will

A bequest to 糖心Vlog官方 is one of the most meaningful ways to support the College. Legacy gifts enable you to make a direct and enduring contribution to the future of the College. Anyone can leave a gift in their will, and any sum - small or large - will make a real difference to the College in its mission to be a force for good in society.

Visit our dedicated page on legacy giving to discover more about the impact of leaving a gift in your will.

Give shares & securities

You can get Income Tax relief for gifts to the College of certain shares and securities. Additionally, you are not liable to pay Capital Gains Tax when you make gifts of shares to the College, even if the shares are worth more when you donate them than when you acquired them. Please contact the Development Director by emailing director-development@wolfson.cam.ac.uk if you wish to discuss this option.

Payroll giving & corporate matched funding

Some organisations operate a Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme, which enables UK taxpayers to support charities directly from their payroll. Please contact your Human Resources department to find out if your employer operates this scheme. When completing any associated paperwork, please use our full name and charity number: "糖心Vlog官方, Cambridge, 1138143".

Your employer may, alternatively, offer a matched funding scheme where they agree to match charitable donations made by their employees (usually pound-for-pound and up to a certain threshold each year). Please reach out to your Human Resources department to find out whether your company or organisation operates such a scheme.

Our Fundraising Promise

This promise outlines the commitment made to alumni, donors and other supporters by the universities and colleges which register with the Fundraising Regulator. Those who register with the regulator agree to ensure their fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful. The standards for fundraising are set out in the Code of Fundraising Practice.

We will commit to high standards

  • We will adhere to the Fundraising Code of Practice.
  • We will monitor fundraisers, volunteers and third parties working with us to raise funds, to ensure that they comply with the Code of Fundraising Practice and with this Promise.
  • We will comply with the law as it applies to charities and fundraising.

We will be clear, honest and open

  • We will tell the truth and we will not exaggerate.
  • We will do what we say we are going to do with donations we receive.
  • We will be clear about who we are and what we do.
  • We will give a clear explanation of how you can make a gift and change a regular donation.
  • Where we ask a third party to fundraise on our behalf, we will make this relationship and the financial arrangement transparent.
  • We will be able to explain our fundraising costs and show how they are in the best interests of our cause if challenged.
  • We will ensure our complaints process is clear and easily accessible.
  • We will provide clear and evidence based reasons for our decisions on complaints.

We will be respectful

  • We will respect your rights and privacy.
  • We will not put undue pressure on you to make a gift. If you do not want to give or wish to cease giving, we will respect your decision.
  • We will have a procedure for dealing with people in vulnerable circumstances and it will be available on request.
  • Where the law requires, we will get your consent before we contact you to fundraise.
  • If you tell us that you don鈥檛 want us to contact you in a particular way we will not do so. We will work with the Telephone, Mail and Fundraising Preference Services to ensure that those who choose not to receive specific types of communication don鈥檛 have to.

We will be fair and reasonable

  • We will treat donors and the public fairly, showing sensitivity and adapting our approach depending on your needs.
  • We will take care not to use any images or words that intentionally cause distress or anxiety.
  • We will take care not to cause nuisance or disruption to the public.

We will be accountable and responsible

  • We will manage our resources responsibly and consider the impact of our fundraising on our donors, supporters and the wider public.
  • If you are unhappy with anything we鈥檝e done whilst fundraising, you can contact us to make a complaint. We will listen to feedback and respond appropriately to compliments and criticism we receive.
  • We will have a complaints procedure, a copy of which will be available on our website or available on request.
  • Our complaints procedure will let you know how to contact the Fundraising Regulator in the event that you feel our response is unsatisfactory.
  • We will monitor and record the number of complaints we receive each year and share this data with the Fundraising Regulator on request.

Legacy Giving

Morrison Society

Named after the College鈥檚 visionary founding President, John Morrison, the Morrison Society was established in 2008 to thank those who have chosen to leave a bequest to 糖心Vlog官方 in their will. Society members are invited to special events, allowing us to express our appreciation during their lifetime for this important commitment. Members also have their names inscribed in a special commemorative book, should they wish to be acknowledged publicly, and are listed in the 糖心Vlog官方 Review.

Join The Morrison Society by making a pledge to leave a legacy to 糖心Vlog官方.

Lifetime Giving

Bredon Fellowship and The Vice-Chancellor's Circle

The Bredon Fellowship recognises great benevolence to the College from donors who have given over 拢250,000 in their lifetime.

In 1965, the College was founded by the University of Cambridge with a single building: Bredon House. At its inception, the College was home to six students; today, it is changing the lives of almost 1,000 postgraduates, mature undergraduates and part-time students.

Bredon House, as 糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 first and most important building, remains central to the College both as it is today and to its future. It is therefore fitting that exceptional munificence is recognised in a way which reflects our distinguished history and traditions, created within this building.

Current Bredon Fellows:
Mr Mark Boyce
Mr David Graus
Professor John Hughes
Mr Maxim Klimov
HE Dr Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz, CBE (Hon), GCMLJ, FRSA
Ms Wei Wang
Ms Aysha Shoman
Mr Omar Shoman

Donors who have given over 拢250,000 are also eligible for the Vice-Chancellor鈥檚 Circle, which was created in 2007 as part of the Cambridge 800th Anniversary Campaign. Members are invited to an annual reception at an exclusive venue.

Guild of Benefactors

Donors who give 拢1,000,000 or more cumulatively are nominated for membership in the Guild of Cambridge Benefactors. The guild was established in 1998 to honour the generosity of major benefactors to the University and its constituent Colleges. Members鈥 names are recorded on the Benefactors鈥 Staircase in the Old Schools and are invited to the annual Guild of Benefactors dinner each year.
