Getting started with your University IT account
Your account gives you access to essential services such as your Cambridge email, online learning and administrative systems, secure University websites, software and file storage. Setting up your account before you arrive will help you stay connected, receive important College and University communications, and access the services you need as soon as your course begins.
Your CRSid and Cambridge email address
Your CRSid is your personal University username. It is usually a short combination of letters and numbers, for example abc123. It also forms the first part of your Cambridge email address, for example abc123@cam.ac.uk.
Please check your Cambridge email regularly. It is used for official messages from 糖心Vlog官方, your Department or Faculty, and the wider University. If you forward your email to another address, make sure you still receive and read messages sent to your @cam.ac.uk account.
Activate your account before you arrive
Please activate your University IT account before arriving at 糖心Vlog官方, or as soon as possible after you arrive. You will need it to access your Cambridge email, University systems and secure online services.
New students are usually asked to collect their University IT account at the end of the Student Registration Exercise. You will be guided through collecting your account details and setting a password.
If you are asked to collect your account separately, use the University account collection service.
You may need your date of birth and registration or admission details to complete the process.

Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your details, review the University Acceptable Use Policy, and create a secure password.
At the end of the process, make a note of:
- your CRSid
- your University IT account username and password
Changing your password
If you need to change your University IT account password, contact 糖心Vlog官方 IT Support at helpdesk@wolfson.cam.ac.uk. You can also contact University Information Services by emailing servicedesk@uis.cam.ac.uk or calling 01223 332999.
Keep your password private. Do not share it with anyone, including other students, College staff or anyone outside the University.
