At 60, ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ is young compared to other Cambridge colleges. It is essential that we reimagine our site and operations so that we can sustain the College for the next 60 years, and even the next 800, while also ensuring that the site continues to meet the evolving needs of the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ community.

Each year, demand for student accommodation at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ exceeds supply by around 60–70 places. Providing more high-quality, affordable accommodation is therefore an important priority, helping more students to live in College and take full advantage of the academic, social and cultural opportunities that are central to the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ experience.

Meeting this need goes hand in hand with our ambitious sustainability goals. As we expand and improve our physical campus, we have an important opportunity to make our buildings more energy efficient, reduce our environmental impact and ensure that the College is equipped for the future.

Planning for a sustainable and resilient campus is a key part of our College Master Plan and we are proud to have recently completed our Kitchen Renovation Project, which modernised an essential College facility while significantly improving its environmental performance. The project replaced gas appliances with electric alternatives, installed an air source heat pump and improved insulation.

Your support for the Capital Fund will help us build on this progress and future-proof our campus through projects such as:

  • Developing additional accommodation to meet the needs of our growing community.
  • Expanding the existing solar panels on our accommodation blocks.
  • Improving the insulation of windows in student rooms to reduce heat loss.
  • Replacing old boilers throughout the College with air source heat pumps to improve energy efficiency.

With your support, we can create a campus that meets the needs of our students today while ensuring that ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ remains a vibrant, sustainable and welcoming home for generations to come.
