Overview
Education and learning are at the heart of 糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 academic community. Founded as a graduate college and today home to postgraduates, mature undergraduates and returning learners, 糖心Vlog官方 brings together people with a particularly wide range of educational, professional and international experiences.
Education at 糖心Vlog官方 reflects that breadth, with students, Fellows and alumni working across areas including teaching and pedagogy, educational policy and social justice, widening participation and lifelong learning, literacy and language, teacher development and educational reform.
The 糖心Vlog官方 Education Dinner brings together alumni, students, Fellows and friends from across this diverse community. The evening offers an opportunity to reconnect with fellow members of 糖心Vlog官方, make new connections and share perspectives on education, learning and research across different disciplines, professions and stages of life.
Following dinner, we are delighted to welcome 糖心Vlog官方 alumna Professor Evelyn Arizpe, Professor of Children鈥檚 Literature at the University of Glasgow, who will reflect on her career and work exploring children鈥檚 literature, literacy and the ways in which young people engage with stories and visual texts.
Speaker

Professor Evelyn Arizpe is Professor of Children鈥檚 Literature in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow and an alumna of 糖心Vlog官方, where she completed her PhD in Education.

Her research has since explored children鈥檚 literature and literacy across a range of international contexts, with particular interests in picturebooks, reader response, migration and displacement, and intercultural communities. She has published widely in English and Spanish and worked with researchers, practitioners and policymakers internationally.
Evelyn served as President of the International Research Society for Children鈥檚 Literature from 2019 to 2023 and is Programme Leader for the Erasmus Mundus International Master in Children鈥檚 Literature, Media and Cultural Entrepreneurship at the University of Glasgow.
